Year Cam Picture Details what happend ?
1978

If I remember correctly, it was on our holiday trip to Rimini (Italy) when I first really discovered the magic of taking pictures. The camera I was using by that time belonged to my mother; it was a small AGFA Pocket camera with a 15mm film roll.

I don't know. The camera is probably still stored in a closet somewhere at my perents place.

1984

The first SLR (Single Lens Reflex) camera entered our house. It was a real beauty, a German product, a PRACTICA.

1986

Spring of 1986; Fixu buys his first personal SLR camera. A Pentax ME Super with a 50mm lens.

Has some scratches and is a bit dented but still works; even after heavy usage on our 8 months worldtrip in 1991.
1987
Canon TopShot. An excellent travel-companion and snap-shooter.
1989 R.I.P. -
Fell on the ground and suffered severe  damage.
1987

The interest in photography grew very fast. Soon the feature options of my Pentax ME Super ran out. So, a whole new area of photography was to be entered; the world of NIKON. The Nikon FA seemed to be the right choice at that time.

Sold it to a secondhand shop in 1990
1988
Bought it from a secondhand shop. The Nikon EM is a very handy and light camera.
Still works, should just add a fresh pair of batteries.
1989
Also from a secondhand shop. The Pentax SUPER A. I thought this camera had much more to offer than the ME Super...   ....I was wrong. It turned out to be not very reliable.
Sold it around 1992
1989
Probably the best SLR camera I ever bought. I got it secondhand from a friend. The Nikon F-301 has motorized film transportation, excellent light measuring system and is extremely reliable. It travelled with me thousands of miles and it really has seen a lot.
Still works excellent!
1990
Another secondhand camera; the Pentax A3 also offers motorized film transpotation and some other features seemed to make this model a perfect twin brother to the Nikon F-301...    ..but once again, Pentax hasn't been very reliable.
Retired in 1994
1991
Yashica T4; one of the most reliable travel companions ever! Excellent camera.
Still works perfect.

Sold it to Lee Wei in 2010.
Have fun!
2002
It was more than 10 years back that I bought my last  camera...   ...so now it was time to enter the digital world. The Sony DSC-P5 (3.2MP) was an excellent choice. It travelled with me 5 weeks through the US and it took thousands of pictures.
Sold it to a friend in 2003
2003
The DSC-P9 hasn't any significant extra features compared to the P5 except the picture resolution is 4.1 MP and the battery lasts much longer.
Sold it to a friend in 2004
2004
DSC-P10; it must have been the tempting resolution of 5MP that persuaded me to buy this cam... ...so far, I haven't regret it. Excellent camera!
Works excellent
2004
The digital "flagship"; the Sony F-828 with its 8MP resolution and its lens with focal length of 28-200mm (equiv.135film). Outstanding camera with exciting features.
Works excellent! Shot more than 30'000 pictures so far!
2005
Nikon 8400. The camera delivers the feature I was waiting for...   ...real wide-angle (24mm equiv. 135film) and an excellent 8MP picture quality.
Works excellent
2005
The Sony DSC-H1. It covers an area which isn't covered by my other cameras...   ...far distance zooming. With its amazing 420mm equiv. and its convincing steady-shot technology it's easy to love this camera. Resolution 5.1MP.
R.I.P.
It decided to refuse to work anymore in end of 2009.
2005

The Fujifilm FinePix S9500 combines high resolution (9MP) with a powerful optical zoom (10.7x  equiv. 28-300mm). Fuji is well-known for its natural skin colors...   ...so far I haven't been disappointed except for ISO 1600 which leaves picture with quite some noise.

Excellent skin colors! Perfect for portraits and nudes.

Sold it to a friend in June 2007
2006

The Sony R1! A master-piece when it comes to picture quality. With its resolution of 10.3 MP and its range of 24-120mm, it's the perfect camera for landscape, group or portrait pictures.

It's a Sony!...
...works excellent as usual.
2006

The semi-professional DSLR D80 from Nikon is a real treat! It combines perfect picture quality with advanced features known from pro-cameras such as an extremely accurant and fast autofocus.
Resolution: 10.2 MP
Lens: 18-135mm (equiv. 28-200mm)

NIKON...  what more can I say?

Has served excellent for many photo-shootings so far.

Sold it in early 2008 because of D300.
2007

FUJIFILM FinePix S5 Pro:
This baby comes with an all-weather-proof ultra-durable and reliable body from Nikon (D200)filled with  the latest technology from Fujifilm. Extreme high dynamic range, noise-free high ISO and a Super CCD sensor with a resolution of 12.3 MP were convincing features.

Excellent quality with outstanding skin tones.
Shutter quite loud but else perfect!
2008

Nikon D300:
A real heavy duty piece of high tech equipment with 12.3 MP.
High-ISO sets the bar to a whole new level !
This camera made me selling my D80 right away.
So far, excellent results as expected.

Very solid and reliable!
